Who We’re Looking For:
The Continuous Improvement Manager is part of the Operations team managing process improvement initiatives across the organization by working with other business teams to deliver business benefits and promote a culture of continuous improvement. This includes being responsible for the planning and execution of multiple process improvement projects that will translate company strategies into action, deliver significant ROI, reduce risk, and achieve strategic objectives. Activities include mentoring and partnering with other teams to identify future opportunities and supports talent acquisition/development initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Manager serves as a trusted adviser to process owners, spearheads solutions, while partnering with key support functions such as Finance, HR, and Sales during implementation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supports project pipeline and improvement portfolio development by forging close relationships with process owners to identify the most critical process improvement opportunities.
- Builds relationships with key constituents necessary to deliver project results, including identifying and breaking down barriers/obstacles, collaborating with key players to influence change.
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
- Coach and support project team members in use of tools and methodologies.
- Plan, organize, and monitor process improvement event performance using appropriate Lean/Six Sigma project management tools and techniques in alignment with organizational change and project management framework.
- Perform post-implementation reviews of process improvement events to ensure sufficient controls are in place and being adhered to by accountable and responsible business staff.
- Serve as a resource for change enablement by embracing change and championing new ideas/opportunities.
- Analyze current state including defining and quantifying P&L impact of process improvement areas.
- Support a positive and innovative work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
- Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and process owner.
- Establish and manage effective relationships across multiple business partners and project managers.
- Staying up to date with the latest technology and improvement strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, business process management, or operations management, required; MBA preferred.
- Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma certifications required; certification(s) in process improvement, business/operations management, or similar is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the willingness to make fast, pragmatic, and sustainable decisions, combined with creativity and a “hands on mentality.”
- 7-10 years of experience in project management.
- Ability to identify cost-saving measures and improvement strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of business management software to drive measurable results.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to coordinate projects and lead multiple teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Report and procedure writing skills.
- Active listening and diplomacy skills
- Organized, flexible, agile, and resilient.
- Computer proficiency, technical aptitude, and ability to use Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
This is a full-time, exempt role based out of BNI’s Global Headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is not a remote or hybrid role. Background check and references required.
