Mark Clauss joined BNI in 2020 as the organization’s first Chief Product Officer to help create more value for members through product and service improvements and help drive continued global member expansion. Mark is passionate about building products that start with the needs of the customer, or in BNI’s case the member. Prior to BNI, he served as Managing Vice President of Product at Gartner, a $4B business research and advisory firm that builds memberships of business executives from large and mid-market enterprise companies. Prior to Gartner, he held senior product and general management roles at CEB (Corporate Executive Board) for 16 years, another B2B network-based membership business. Mark started his career at McKinsey & Company, a global strategic consulting firm.
Mark knows the value of solving problems using data and will help BNI prioritize which innovations will have the largest impact on member value by quantifying member needs and driving pilots to measure the impact of new product ideas. His love of data – both quantitative and qualitative – started with his BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University. Mark also received his MBA from Cornell, graduating with distinction for both degrees. Mark is also passionate about people development and creating an innovation and product mindset within BNI.
