Overview
Position Summary
The Junior Accountant is part of our Finance team for BNI’s France and French Speaking Belgium subsidiary, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. This role assists with general accounting activities and supports Accounts Payable (AP) processing, working closely with the Operations team. A successful Junior Accountant possesses strong organizational and communication skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Roles and Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Own the end-to-end commission process, including the calculation of commission amounts, verification of commission invoices received and issuance of appropriate payment.
- Assist with month-end close (MEC) activities, including accruals, payroll accounting, journal entries, and intercompany transactions, while helping the Financial Controller meet group deadlines.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist with variance analysis and preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Support the completion of monthly VAT declarations.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs.
- Maintain accurate AP records and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Review of operating expense transactions for accuracy and consistency.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance AP efficiency and accuracy.
General Financial Support
- Maintain proper documentation and organized filing of financial records.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with the Operations team and other departments to track costs, respond to queries, and resolve financial issues.
- Support the implementation of group-wide accounting policies and procedures in collaboration with the global finance team.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting cycles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (Netsuite experience is a strong plus).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
