Core group of BNI Denmark

With a dedicated core group of 18 Members, BNI Denmark held its official kick-off and had more than 85 business people in attendance!

The start up and launch of BNI Denmark has been a direct result of a lot of hard work by Rene Bruun, the new Regional Director of BNI Denmark. In addition, Rene has received plenty of support and assistance from Gunnar Selheden, National Director of BNI Scandinavia.

Meeting of European Directors

While at the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland this January, Dr. Ivan Misner had the opportunity to do a CNN interview with Richard Quest. BNI was asked to train him on how to network a mixer and an entire show was devoted to that theme.

On his way to Davos, Dr. Misner met with nine Directors from five countries in Zurich. For three and a half hours they discussed the traditions of BNI, operating in different countries, the hidden elements of a meeting, and more.

Ten Minute Art Gallery

Judy Webber, of The Fusion Gallery, transformed the BNI Team Spirit Chapter meeting room at the Oasis Hotel, Albir, Alicante, into an art gallery for her 10-minute presentation. The walls were adorned with her own paintings and paintings from artists her gallery represents. Sculptures were also displayed on plinths around the room.

Bucks Fizz was sipped while Judy took the members for a tour of the art and sculpture, describing in detail the medium used in the paintings and the process of creating a bronze sculpture.

Visiting National Director Mark Trowbridge, was transfixed upon walking into the room which had been especially set up and prepared the night before. "Judy had really pushed the boat out. It was one of the most amazing 10-minute presentations I have experienced, and the effort that had gone into it was staggering. Judy is a talented artist, and obviously an exceptional businesswoman. She deserves a huge amount of support from her fellow chapter members."

The tastefully staged presentation resulted in a commission from a corporate visitor, and has already created several key referrals from members.

BNI South Cotswolds Set For Take Off

BNI South Cotswolds has moved its weekly meetings to AV at Kemble Airfield where it hopes to attract even more members from Cirencester, Malmesbury and Stroud areas. "If there were prizes for getting the highest adrenaline rush prior to a meeting—I think South Cotswolds would win. Our early morning drive now entails negotiating sections of a live runway!" said Susan Hogan, chapter director. "We now find ourselves giving our 60-second presentations accompanied by amazing aeronautical displays."

The excitement level is matched inside the meeting room, as well. At the chapter's recent Visitor's Day guests were treated to an amazing 115 referrals from one member—notable networker Susan Godding.
