 From May 27th—30th, BNI members from 24 countries gathered at the sophisticated Kuala Lumpur Convention Center for the BNI Worldwide Members Event which was sponsored by Emery Worldwide and VIS-AGE.
The event kicked off with outstanding speeches by top international speakers and cutting-edge advice was given on how to run BNI as a business and how to stimulate PR. The second day focused on serious networking activities where members worked the room asking, “Who do you know who can help me to get a contact for . . .?” If the person could help, the member wrote down the other member’s name and promised to follow up later.
Members also networked using lead generation slips. Every member took as many of these as they wanted and wrote down what and who were looking for contacts with. They then pinned the slips on the board. This allowed for members to contact the person on the notice board or refer them to someone. Some truly amazing connections were made as a result of this! Dr. Misner was generous in his praise for KL08, and has pledged his support for another Members Event in 2010. Having assessed the feedback sheets from the delegates present, there is an overwhelming demand to host the next one in Kuala Lumpur again.
