Just last month, BNI opened chapters in both Kenya and Korea.
In January of 2008, Kenya witnessed the worst political crisis since its independence and investors were pulling out in droves. However, E. Muraguri and Bijay Shah, the National Directors for BNI Kenya, saw this as an opportunity for BNI. There couldn’t be a better time for business people to see the need to get together and support each other in true Givers Gain style. On April 22, 2008, over 150 visitors from the business community in Kenya turned up as early as 6:15 a.m. to launch the BNI Biashara Bora (Swahili for “Booming Business”) chapter in Nairobi, and two more BNI chapters are currently in the making in Kenya.
On the same day, at 7 a.m. in South Korea, the first Korean BNI chapter was launched by Haewon Choi, the BNI National Director for Korea. An intensely interested audience of 50 visitors attended the chapter launch and as a result, a second Korean BNI chapter is now in the works and will be started by BNI Assistant Director Je Kim.
Congratulations to BNI Kenya and BNI Korea and welcome to the BNI family! |
