Dr. Ivan Misner visits Portugal and the U.K.! Released: May 10, 2007
Dinner Event for over 200 BNI Members at the VIP Art’s Executive Hotel at Parque das Nações in Portugal
During the month of April 2007, BNI’s Founder & Chairman Dr. Ivan Misner traveled around the world from Indianapolis, Indiana to the U.K. in only 19 days. After constantly hurrying to catch flights and arrive at the next destination, many people would be tempted to let jet lag override their ability to keep a positive and energetic attitude—but not Dr. Misner! While in Lisbon, Portugal, he recorded BNI podcast episode 004 (www.BNIPodcast.com) via telephone and said that it was very exciting to be in Portugal and joked that, “Any flight that lands safely is a good one.”
While in Portugal, Dr. Misner not only recorded the first international BNI podcast, he also did a video interview for the Portuguese media, met with Regional Directors, attended a dinner event which drew over 200 BNI Members, did a Q&A accompanied by a book signing, and of course—gave presentations!
From Portugal, Dr. Misner visited the U.K., which just so happens to be the place where Hélder Falcão, National Director of BNI Portugal, first heard about BNI and attended his first BNI Meeting!

Dr. Misner arrived in the U.K., the last stop on his event-filled presentation tour, on April 24th and was welcomed by BNI U.K. National Directors Martin and Gillian Lawson. During the course of his five day stay in the U.K., Dr. Misner gave presentations on “Truth or Delusion” and “Networking Resonance,” participated in several Blackstar and Ecademy networking events, met with BNI U.K. Directors, held an “Ask the Founder” session and Q&A for BNI United Kingdom Members’ Day, had a Dance Card lunch with BNI Members, and attended an Awards Dinner for BNI U.K. Directors.
It is well evidenced that our Founder and Chairman is one busy man with a flurry of travel engagements, but as he emphasized when he arrived back in sunny Southern California, the hard work, dedication, and hospitable nature of BNI Members and Directors worldwide make this organization a joy to be a part of and he had a wonderful time meeting Members in Portugal and the U.K. as well as in Scandinavia and Indianapolis!
